3 Ways to Support Your Team Even if You’re Injured

Sports Roses knows that one of the most devastating things that can happen to an athlete is to suffer an injury that takes him off the field.  Often these events can make an athlete feel useless.  Sports Roses offers 3 ways you can still support your team even if you’re injured.

  1. Be Present and Positive.  It’s easy to wallow in self-pity while on the bench, but this is a good chance to stay actively involved in the game even if you’re not playing.  Cheer your teammates on and show them you’re actively paying attention to their every move and play.  It helps them stay “up” when you’re up as well.
  1. Use Your Position.  Because you’re not on the field, you have a vantage point many players don’t have and can sometimes see things more objectively than they can.  You can also sometimes better see the strengths and weaknesses of the players on the opposing team.  Help your team’s defense by observing what is going on and relaying that information to your teammates.
  1. Tidy Up.  It can actually be a big help to your team members if you keep the bench area clear of stray equipment so that your team members can get on and off the field as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Being benched due to injury doesn’t mean you can’t still contribute.  Turn a negative into a positive with these tips from Sports Roses.
