Off-Season Workouts for Athletes

Sports Roses knows how important it is for your student athlete to stay in shape during the off-season.  Here are some Sports Roses workout recommendations to do during your time away from the game:

  1. Squats and Leg Presses.  Keep your legs firm and in shape by doing 6-8 reps of 5 sets of squats and 12 reps of 3 sets of 45 degree leg presses.  Be sure to rest in between each repetition.
  1. Back Exercises.  A good football player needs a strong back.  These are a couple of exercises Sports Roses recommends: do 6-8 repetitions of 4 sets of lat pull downs as well as 6-8 repetitions of 4 sets of bent over rows (using an Olympic bar).
  1. Chest and biceps.  Keep your pectorals in check and your biceps strong by doing 6-10 reps of 5 sets of barbell bench presses, 10 reps of 4 sets of dumbbell flys, and 6 reps of 3 sets of curls.

Make sure the off-season doesn’t leave your student athlete flabby and out-of-shape.  Use workouts such as these to keep them at their prime when the season starts up again.
