- Squats and Leg Presses. Keep your legs firm and in shape by doing 6-8 reps of 5 sets of squats and 12 reps of 3 sets of 45 degree leg presses. Be sure to rest in between each repetition.
- Back Exercises. A good football player needs a strong back. These are a couple of exercises Sports Roses recommends: do 6-8 repetitions of 4 sets of lat pull downs as well as 6-8 repetitions of 4 sets of bent over rows (using an Olympic bar).
- Chest and biceps. Keep your pectorals in check and your biceps strong by doing 6-10 reps of 5 sets of barbell bench presses, 10 reps of 4 sets of dumbbell flys, and 6 reps of 3 sets of curls.
Make sure the off-season doesn’t leave your student athlete flabby and out-of-shape. Use workouts such as these to keep them at their prime when the season starts up again.
