3 Details You Can’t Forget When Hosting a Softball Tournament

May 1, 2013 Leave a reply

Softball Roses can help you if you’re hosting a softball tournament and want it to be perfect, but don’t know where to start.  You want your tournament to be a lifetime memory for the kids participating.  Here are some tips for making it memorable and successful.

  1. Be Creative and Unique.  Softball Roses will set your softball tournament apart from the norm.  These roses can be used as centerpieces or decorations at the tournament barbeque or banquet.  Softball Roses can also be given as gifts to the players, their parents, or any other special guests at the opening or closing ceremonies of the tournament.
  1. Safety First.  For a successful and headache-free softball tournament, make sure the field, bleachers, and surrounding areas are checked for any safety hazards
  1. Stay Organized.  Make sure you cover all the details.  Do you have someone ready to sing the national anthem?  Will you have enough refreshments available?  Do you have enough change for entry and concessions?  Do you have all the softball supplies you need?  Are there enough people available to smoothly run the tournament?  These are just some of the questions you should be asking yourself.

You can have a successful and memorable softball tournament if you remember details like these.

Are you looking for holiday gift ideas for your resident sports fan?

Here are some of our favorites…

1. An HDTV. If there is one thing a sports fan loves almost as much seeing a game in person, it is seeing the game on a giant, crystal clear screen.  And this year, you might even be able to buy an HDTV without too big a hit to your pocketbook.   You can find quality LCD screens for as little as $300.

2. Sporting Equipment.  What’s your fan’s favorite sport?  Maybe it’s time for an upgrade in their equipment!  From shoes to tennis rackets to basketballs and more, giving the sports fan in your life some new, high-quality equipment is sure to go over well on Christmas morning.

3. Sports books and movies.  Sports fans love reading and watching about…well…sports!  Great sports books include The Boys of Summer, Friday Night Lights, and A River Runs Through it.  Or try the film classics Rudy, Field of Dreams, Moneyball, Rocky, Hoosiers, and Jerry Macguire.

4. Sports Roses. Sports roses are unique products available in 3 different sports styles.  Choose from Football Roses, Baseball Roses, or Softball Roses. They are handcrafted in the USA with careful attention to detail so outstanding quality is assured.  Your sports fan will have a long lasting memento to cherish.

5. Team merchandise. What’s your fan’s favorite player or team?  Try jerseys, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hats…or for something more creative, go for pajama pants, socks, or even underwear.

What other great gift ideas do you have for the sports fans in your life?

Black Friday Savings Tips

November 22, 2012 Leave a reply

It’s just around the corner…Black Friday!

Whether or not you wake up at the crack of dawn to take advantage of doorbuster deals, Black Friday is a unique day that allows you to find outstanding savings on all kinds of merchandise and holiday gifts.

To take full advantage, you just need to plan ahead.

Here’s how to do it right so that you reduce stress and get the best bargains…

1. Study the ads in your local Thanksgiving Day newspaper thoroughly. The local paper will be your best source for Black Friday savings with all the ads, coupons, and circulars you need to make your plan.  It will also serve as a guide when you are making your schedule for the day since certain stores offer discounts at different times of the day.

2. Watch for Early Bird Shopper Discounts. Certain stores offer discounts from 5am-11am, so know if you need to be up early to get the steeply discounted merchandise.  Hit the most important stores first.

3. Know Store Policies. Learning store return policies will help you decide where to buy. In the past, stores extended the number of return days to include holidays, but now many stores are cutting back, so be careful.  Some stores are strict about requiring receipts for returns and exchanges, so be sure to save receipts — even if you’re buying gifts.

4. Bring the Ads. Many stores offer a lowest price guarantee that means they are willing to match competitors!  Bring copies of ads and see what you can get.  Note that website ads are often NOT considered to be valid, since they’re so easily forged.

5. Avoid crowds with Night Owl Thanksgiving Discounts. The past couple of years, some stores have opted to stay open all night on Thanksgiving instead of opening early on Black Friday.  Watch the ads to see where you might be able to score some night owl Thanksgiving deals.

6. Shop Cyber Monday.  Want to avoid whole thing?  Shop cyber Monday.  You can often find deep discounts on online shopping sites the Monday after Black Friday.  Sports roses is participating in Cyber Monday this year, with $10 Sports Roses!  Get 33% off our standard long stem Baseball Roses, Football Roses, and Softball Roses.  Plus spend at least $25 and receive Free Economy Shipping!
